The Constitutional Appointments Authority

The Constitutional Appointments Authority, often referred to as the CAA, is a creature of the Constitution tasked with proposing candidates for various public offices created by the Constitution.

The CAA is made up of 3 members. One member is appointed by the President of the Republic, another by the Leader of Opposition. The two members then appoint a Chairman, the 3rd member of the CAA. Failure of the 2 members to agree upon a Chairman allows the President of the Republic to appoint the Chairman.

The CAA may propose candidates to the President of the Republic by a simple majority decision.

The incumbent members of the CAA are:

Chairman
Mr Jeremy Bonnelame

Members
Mrs Marlene Lionnet
Mr Patrick Berlouis
