The Seychelles Court of Appeal is the highest court of law in the country. It is the final court of appeal. Its premises are located at the ex-National Library building, along State House Avenue. Appeals are heard by a bench of 3 Justices although other applications, such as for special leave to appeal, may be heard by bench of less than 3 Justices. The head of the Court of Appeal is the President of the Court of Appeal. Its other judicial officers are referred to as Justices of Appeal. Members of the Court of Appeal are appointed by the President of the Republic from candidates proposed by the Constitutional Appointments Authority.
