The Supreme Court of Seychelles

The Supreme Court of Seychelles is the highest trial court in the country and the first court of appeal from all the lower courts and tribunals. Its premises are located at the Palais des Justices, next to the Victoria Clock Tower.

The head of the Supreme Court, who is also the head of the Judiciary, is the Chief Justice. The other judges of the Supreme Court are referred to as Puisne Judges.

The President of the Republic appoints the Chief Justice and Puisne Judges from candidates proposed by the Constitutional Appointments Authority. To be eligible to be nominated to serve at the Supreme Court bench, one must be qualified to plead before all the courts of the land for at least 7 years.

The head of administration of the judiciary is the Registrar of the Supreme Court.
